  • Punchtree Cabins are located in Carluke in the beautiful Clyde Valley, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, set within 5.5 acres of historic private grounds with sweeping lawns, mature trees and abundant wildlife.

    We’re conveniently close to the towns of Carluke, Hamilton, and Lanark, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, supermarkets and transport links. We are also approximately 45 minutes from both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • We currently have two bespoke wooden cabins, each designed as a private retreat for two adults.

    Each cabin is carefully positioned to give guests privacy, seclusion and uninterrupted views of nature.

  • Our cabins have a two-night minimum stay to help guests fully relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

  • Each cabin is open-plan, warm and cosy, designed for comfort and simplicity.

    Inside you’ll find:

    • A comfortable double bed with quality mattress

    • Beautiful white bed linen

    • Towels and dressing gowns

    • A wood-burning stove

    • A seating area to relax

    • A separate bathroom with power shower, toilet and sink

  • As we are self-catering, the cabins include everything you need for simple cooking:

    • Induction hob

    • Microwave oven

    • Kettle and toaster

    • Fridge freezer

    • Cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery

    • Salt, Pepper, Tea, Coffee, Cooking Oil

    Perfect for preparing relaxed meals during your stay.

  • Each cabin has its own private outdoor space including:

    • A private patio

    • Outdoor seating

    • A fire pit

    • Peaceful views of the surrounding grounds

    Guests often enjoy sitting outside in the evening, watching wildlife and enjoying the quiet countryside.

  • Yes — but they are slightly different.

    • One cabin has a wood-fired hot tub (Punch Tree Lodge) - Wood supplied for this

    • The other has a beautiful outdoor bath which fills just like a normal bath (Copper Beech Cabin)

    Both offer a wonderful way to relax outdoors surrounded by nature. Punchtree Cabins is one of the few intimate cabin retreats in the Clyde Valley offering this type of outdoor bathing experience. Outdoor bathing is a calming experience of soaking in warm water while fully immersing yourself in the sights, sounds and fresh air of the surrounding woodland and nature. Forest Bathing comes from the Japanese wellness practice Shinrin-yoku, which begin in the 1980’s. This encourages people to slow down and reconnect with nature for better health.

  • Yes. The cabins are set within private grounds and positioned to provide seclusion and tranquillity for guests.

    Each lodge has its own private area, allowing you to enjoy nature in peace.

  • The grounds are home to lots of wildlife and animals.

    Guests frequently see:

    • Roe deer

    • Owls

    • Pheasants

    • Rabbits

    • A variety of birds

    We also have mini Shetland ponies & two dogs on site. They are friendly but, we ask you don’t feed them.

  • Yes. Free on-site parking is available for guests.

  • Absolutely. Many guests come to switch off, slow down and reconnect with nature.

    The peaceful setting, trees and wildlife make Punchtree Cabins an ideal place to relax and recharge.

    With this in mind, we don’t do Hen/Stag parties or anything too loud.

    Guests stay in bespoke wooden cabins surrounded by mature trees, including giant sequoias, hemlock firs and ancient yews.

    The grounds are home to wildlife such as roe deer, owls, pheasants and rabbits, as well as our friendly mini Shetland ponies.

    It’s a place designed for relaxation, digital detox and reconnecting with nature.

  • Yes. The cabins are open throughout the year, and each season offers a different experience.

    • Spring & Summer: wildlife, greenery and long evenings outdoors

    • Autumn: colourful woodland and crisp countryside air

    • Winter: cosy nights beside the wood-burning stove

  • We are onsite for guests if they need us, however, privacy is key.

    • You can reach us by phone/text between the hours of 8am/8pm, unless it’s an Emergency.

    All products must be paid in advance via our Shop.

  • The Cabins main source of Heat is our lovely Wood Burning Stoves.

    We offer a complimentary bag of Wood to get you started. Thereafter, it’s £10 a bag of Wood from our Shop.

    Fires take approx 20 minutes to heat up and are super cosy.

    NB: Please buy wood from us to support small busiesses.

    We don’t allow: Damp Wood or Coal
